Lower the Barrier Colorado is dedicated to breaking down barriers to the workforce. We provide CDOT certified courses for flagger jobs, industry-informed training for forklift operator jobs, and individualized resume consultations. Additionally, we assist in crafting your elevator speech for interviews and offer hundreds of job leads. Our approach includes systemic advocacy and support for transitional housing to ensure comprehensive job placement.

LTBCO’s mission is clear: "Lower the Barrier, Not the Bar," as we focus on job placement, systemic advocacy, and providing transitional housing.
Our History
Lower the Barrier Colorado (LTBCO) is a Denver-based workforce development nonprofit dedicated to creating pathways to employment for underserved communities, including individuals returning from incarceration, low-income residents, youth, and those facing barriers to economic opportunity. Since 2019, LTBCO has trained over 5,000 individuals through industry-recognized certifications, such as CDOT Flagger, Forklift, Skid Steer, and Telehandler, alongside workforce readiness programming focused on job placement. Additionally, LTBCO engages in systemic advocacy and supports transitional housing initiatives to ensure participants have the necessary resources to successfully transition into the workforce.
Our Partners
LTBCO maintains an active network of over 50 employer and workforce partners across Colorado, facilitating job placement for participants in industries such as construction, transportation, warehousing, logistics, food distribution, and infrastructure. Current partners include the Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado Department of Corrections, Denver Workforce Services, Goodwill Excel Center, CrossPurpose, Second Chance Center, Struggle of Love Foundation, Brother Jeff Cultural Center, Metro Caring, Rocky Mountain Human Services, Sysco, Douglas County Works, Arapahoe County Works, The Pride Initiative, Field of Vision, Community Outreach Service Center, Kaizen Food Rescue, Apex Plumbing, and many additional community and employer partners throughout the region. Through systemic advocacy and support for transitional housing, LTBCO connects individuals to valuable opportunities in the workforce.
